Easter “Wreath” and River’s Imagination…

Another “wreath” in upgraded picture frame style!

The “Happy Easter” decoration was one I made about 5 years ago. It needed an upgrade. This is what I came up with (all items I already had). The only additional thing it could use is a grommet for the ribbon.

River came home on friday from school on a mission. She wanted to cook. Instead of discourage her (like, I honestly, normally would due to mess and my lack of motivation) I let her take the reigns. She made a recipe:

{2 carrots, 3 spoons salt (sot–hehe), pepper, 3 slices tomato}

It was the cutest thing to watch. I had to explain that it wouldn’t be very yummy for dinner, though. (She used a butter knife to cut the tomato.)

She wanted to make a fruit salad, so I gave her some supplies and allowed her to choose either vanilla pudding mix or strawberry jello mix as a “sauce”. She chose the strawberry jello and it turned out quite yummy.

Today she decided to get out all the Friend magazines to find things to draw. She really did a great job. I especially thought her picture of Henry B. Eyring was impressive

She is turning into such a big girl! I’m just amazed everyday.

About stacey

I am the Mom of two young, rambunctious girls, a curious little boy, and a wee little man who is bursting with joy for life. I just wanted to do something for myself that allowed me to harness the magical moments of being a Mom. (A job that sometimes feels thankless, misunderstood, and considered easy by those that haven't done it.) I wanted to be more positive by looking more closely at the good things that happen every day via photos and my thoughts.
