Craft Day: Spider web weaving craft

Some prep work by mom is required here since you need to cut out some cardboard, cover it in cute paper and cut notches in the sides. This took me about 30 minutes to do. Or do the styrofoam version. If you wanted to skip the colored paper you could just cut out cardboard and maybe peel off the outer layer of one of the sides to reveal the ridges in the middle that look kinda cool for crafty projects. (I did that on the back sides of these.SONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSCWe also made cute little spiders to add to our web decor. (Hanging from a thread next to these webs on our back door.)

Neighborhood Halloween Carnival—

(Costumes I got on clearance after Halloween last year. Thomas’ came from a yard sale in Pennsylvania while we were there for my sister’s wedding last year.)

It was a bit of a madhouse there. Me, on my own with four kids was a bit overwhelming for sure. I hope next year I won’t have to do it myself.

Family Activity: Orange Scavenger Hunt

It’s just like it sounds. Each child got a bucket with an orange piece of paper to remind them of the color they were looking for. Then they went all over the house and collected orange things. This is Thomas’ finds:

{Thomas also found a lot of other toys. Haha}

SONY DSCThis week we went to two birthdays. Siblings, actually. A dinosaur party called for a hand drawn dinosaur bag by me. Molly decorated the brown paper packaging of the other gift. It’s fun to make things personal.

IMG_3701Wesley has been horribly bored recently, so I got out the jumper a month early. He hasn’t figured it out but it changes up his routine enough that he has let me put him down long enough to get a thing or two done. :) The other kids were totally obsessed with it though…

About stacey

I am the Mom of two young, rambunctious girls, a curious little boy, and a wee little man who is bursting with joy for life. I just wanted to do something for myself that allowed me to harness the magical moments of being a Mom. (A job that sometimes feels thankless, misunderstood, and considered easy by those that haven't done it.) I wanted to be more positive by looking more closely at the good things that happen every day via photos and my thoughts.
